Has anyone read this article?  Followed this advice?  It seems at first odd, but the focus on rejections seems to take the sting out of the submission process, focusing on rejections rather than acceptances.   I haven’t done this, but wonder if people have read this or have sage advice on rejections.

What Does Beat Mean?

A publisher recently asked me what I meant by “beat.”

The word beat comes from “beat” as in music.  The beat poets often performed in conjunction with instruments.  “Beat” also means defeated and “beat” as in beatify means to make blessed. What do you think beat poetry means?

Costa Rican Sun and Poetry

DSCN6766I am here in Costa Rica again.  The words of the Nicaraguan poet, Ruben Dario comes to mind:

Now is come the month of roses!
To the woods my verse has flown
Gathering fragrance and honey
From the blossoms newly blown.

I am grateful for the opportunity and hope to write some good poetry here.  What do you do for inspiration?
